There are places that, over time, become part of a love story.

For Amy and George, that place is Ibiza.

Summer after summer, the island became the backdrop to some of their happiest memories: holidays with friends, sunsets over the Mediterranean, carefree days without schedules, and that unmistakable sense of freedom that only Ibiza can offer. It was here that they created some of the most meaningful moments of their life together, so when they began imagining their wedding, there was never any question of celebrating it anywhere else.

Their story, however, had begun many years before.

Amy was just nineteen when she first met George. She and her friends were too young to get into the club where they had planned to spend the evening, but George happened to know the owner and managed to get them inside. What seemed like a small coincidence quietly changed the course of both their lives.

They spent the entire evening talking. What started as a chance encounter gradually grew into a relationship built over nearly seven years, shaped by shared adventures, unforgettable travels and countless memories.

“We’re best friends above all else,” Amy says. “I don’t think George could ever have kept a proposal a secret from me.”

And, in many ways, that proposal carried Amy’s signature too.

A passionate lover of vintage jewellery, she still remembers walking through Mayfair when she stopped in front of a jeweller’s window. An exquisite 1980s ring immediately caught her eye. Smiling, she showed it to George and jokingly told him they should buy the ring and book a trip to Barbados so he could finally propose.

That is exactly what happened.

From Barbados to Ibiza: The Wedding They Had Always Imagined

George proposed on the beach at the Sandy Lane Hotel in Barbados, a place that has always held a special place in Amy’s heart and where she has spent holidays since childhood.

The evening continued with a private dinner on the beach, centred around their favourite dishes: grilled prawns, sea bass and tiramisu.

It was everything Amy had ever imagined.

After all, she laughs, she had suggested both the ring and the trip herself. When you’ve grown up together, surprise naturally gives way to complicity, and it is precisely that deep understanding that best defines their relationship.

Just a few days later, they were back in Ibiza.

They wanted a short engagement and couldn’t wait to start planning their wedding.

There was only one certainty from the very beginning: it had to be by the sea.

Amy describes herself as a true summer girl. She loves sunshine, the ocean and life by the water, and she never imagined saying “I do” anywhere that wasn’t overlooking the sea.

Their search eventually led them to Villa Ischia, nestled in the peaceful area of Es Cubells on Ibiza’s south-west coast.

Many of the villas they visited were beautifully modern, minimalist and unmistakably Ibizan, but none of them truly moved her. Villa Ischia, on the other hand, was love at first sight.

Its Italian-inspired architecture, peach-coloured façades, pale blue shutters, graceful arches and cascading bougainvillea perfectly embodied the timeless, romantic atmosphere Amy had always envisioned.

From that moment on, every detail of the wedding took shape around the villa.

Soft florals in shades of blush pink, white and green, blush silk bridesmaids’ dresses, silver table settings, elegant chandeliers suspended between the trees and flowing drapery all complemented the Mediterranean character of the venue.

As the sun began to set, however, Ibiza revealed its other soul.

A mirrored dance floor, a DJ performing between two palm trees and the house music that had accompanied so many of their summers transformed the reception into a celebration that lasted long into the night.

Yet the wedding itself was only part of the experience.

For three days, Amy and George invited their guests to discover the places they love most on the island: a welcome dinner at Amante, one of their favourite seaside restaurants, followed by a relaxed day at El Silencio Beach Club, spent by the pool with sangria, sunshine and Mediterranean sunsets.

Rather than simply planning a wedding, they wanted to create an experience.

A way of sharing the places they love most and showing why Ibiza will always be part of their story.

When Fashion Meets Couture

For Amy, finding her wedding dress was never simply about style.

Fashion has always been one of her greatest passions. After studying at Condé Nast Fashion College, she developed an appreciation for the details that often go unnoticed: the architecture of a garment, the quality of its fabrics, the artistry behind its construction, and the time and expertise required to create something made to last.

A lover of vintage fashion and deeply committed to a more conscious approach to style, Amy began her bridal journey at Brides Do Good, the London boutique dedicated to promoting responsible bridal fashion through a carefully curated selection of vintage and couture gowns.

It was there that she discovered Peter Langner for the very first time.

She tried on Marion and Amber, and was instantly captivated. Not simply by their beauty, but by the exceptional quality of the fabrics, the impeccable craftsmanship and the timeless elegance that defines every Peter Langner creation.

Neither gown became her wedding dress.

But they gave her one certainty.

“I wanted to become a Peter Langner Bride.”

More than an aesthetic decision, it was a choice rooted in shared values.

Amy has always been drawn to a classic, timeless style. In a world where trends come and go, she wanted a gown that would feel just as meaningful decades from now as it did on her wedding day. Exceptional craftsmanship, the finest materials, Made in Italy excellence and a more conscious vision of fashion were all essential elements of her search.

It was a philosophy that perfectly reflected Peter Langner’s own vision. For decades, the Maison has celebrated bridal couture as an expression of enduring beauty—one that transcends fleeting trends and is defined by exceptional craftsmanship, the finest materials and an uncompromising dedication to creating gowns that become truly timeless pieces.

Glass Slipper: Love at First Sight

The next stop on Amy’s bridal journey was Browns Bride, the iconic London boutique and one of Peter Langner’s long-standing retailers.

Amy was convinced she would choose a strapless gown.

For that reason, the first dress the boutique suggested was Nadine.

It was the very first Peter Langner gown she had ever tried on, and the moment she looked at herself in the mirror, tears filled her eyes.

Then her bridal consultant brought out one final dress.

“This is our wild card“ she said.

Amy never imagined that it would be the one.

The moment she stepped in front of the mirror, she, her mother and her sister all burst into tears at exactly the same time.

As Amy admired the extraordinary crinoline skirt, her consultant revealed the gown’s name: Glass Slipper, one of the iconic designs from Peter Langner’s White Gold couture collection.

“I’d never seen a dress quite like it before. It was love at first sight.”

For Amy, it was everything she had ever dreamed of: dramatic yet refined, sophisticated yet timeless—a gown with a truly unforgettable presence.

“When else, if not on your wedding day, do you get the chance to wear a dress like this?”

The Couture Experience

Following the boutique’s recommendation, Amy returned during the Peter Langner Trunk Show.

It was there that she met Peter in person. He personally took her measurements and guided her through the creation of her gown, making the experience even more meaningful.

Looking back, Amy describes it as one of the most memorable moments of her entire bridal journey.

“Having the designer who created my dress standing beside me was a truly unique experience.“

A few months later, when her gown was delivered, it arrived with something else: an original sketch personally signed by Peter.

A precious keepsake of an experience she will always treasure.

Wearing a made-to-measure gown completely transformed the way Amy experienced her wedding day.

The internal corsetry, the carefully engineered layers, the exceptional fabrics and the flawless fit gave her a feeling of confidence, lightness and elegance unlike anything she had ever experienced before.

For Amy, this is the true essence of couture.

Choosing the Veil

When Amy met Peter, choosing the veil was effortless.

There was never really another option. Glass Slipper had been designed together with its own veil from the very beginning.

Embroidered with the same delicate floral motifs as the gown, it completed the look with perfect harmony—enhancing its elegance and character without ever competing for attention.

For the rest of her styling, Amy remained true to her own understated aesthetic. She wore the jewellery she wears every day, adding only a necklace gifted to her by George, the perfect finishing touch to complement the beautifully sculpted neckline of her gown.

A Day They Will Never Forget

Of all the moments they shared on their wedding day, there are two that Amy treasures above all others.

The first was the first look with her father.

Having spent his career in marketing and production, he has always had a remarkable eye for detail and had been closely involved in Amy’s search for the perfect gown.

Until that moment, however, he had only seen it in photographs.

When he finally saw his daughter in her dress, he couldn’t hold back his tears.

The second unforgettable moment came as Amy walked down the aisle.

For more than a year, she had managed to keep her wedding dress a secret.

Seeing George become overwhelmed with emotion and brought to tears as he saw her for the first time was the greatest gift she could have received.

“It was the most special day of our lives.“

And, with a smile, Amy adds:

“Everyone was speechless when they saw my dress. It truly felt like it had been made just for me.”
