Caterina and Andrea, a last-minute aperitivo, a series of coincidences and a table shared with friends and friends of friends.

That is how their story began, almost by chance. An unexpected meeting in Bologna that, over time, grew into a relationship shaped by complicity, travel and countless moments shared together.

Among their first experiences as a couple, Caterina remembers one in particular: their first trip together, when they told each other they were in love for the very first time. An intimate, spontaneous moment that remains one of the memories that best captures their bond.

Lisbon and an Unexpected Proposal

A few years later, another trip marked the beginning of a new chapter in their story.

Andrea chose Lisbon, a city where Caterina had lived for a year and to which she still feels deeply connected. For that weekend, he let her choose everything: the places she wanted to revisit, the bars and restaurants, almost as though he wanted to step into her memories of life there for a few days.

After dinner at her favourite restaurant, a place she used to visit with her friends, they returned to their hotel. It was there that Andrea asked her to marry him.

“It had already been a magical weekend and I didn’t think it could become even more special, but as always, Andrea found a way to surprise me.”

A Place She Had Imagined Since Childhood

When it came to choosing their wedding venue, Caterina and Andrea did not have to search for long.

Palazzo de’ Rossi, in Sasso Marconi, is just a few minutes from Caterina’s parents’ home. Dating back to the late fifteenth century, it is a place she has known all her life and, since childhood, had imagined as the setting for something special, never knowing that one day it would become the setting for her own wedding.

Shortly before the proposal, almost by coincidence, Caterina and Andrea had accompanied his parents to the small borgo surrounding the palazzo and discovered that a wedding was taking place there that very day. A few weeks later, when it was time to choose their venue, they both immediately thought of the same place. They never considered anywhere else.

The aesthetic of the day came just as naturally. Caterina knew exactly what she wanted: white, elegance and simplicity, allowing the architecture of the palazzo to speak for itself.

There was no defined theme and nothing overly decorative. Small vases of white roses adorned the tables, delicate clouds of white flowers framed the ceremony, while subtle touches of petrol blue appeared throughout. Every detail was chosen to complement the setting without overwhelming it.

Music followed the rhythm of the day: violin during the ceremony and aperitivo, followed by a DJ for dinner and the party.

For Caterina and Andrea, elegance never meant formality. Above all, they wanted a day that felt like them: intimate and emotional during the ceremony, before giving way to a true celebration, bringing together friends and loved ones who had travelled from near and far.

Choosing the Muriel Wedding Dress

Caterina’s search for her wedding dress began at the Peter Langner Showroom in Milan, thanks to one of her closest friends, who was working for the Maison at the time and accompanied her throughout the entire journey.

It was her first bridal appointment, and she did not quite know what to expect. But the feeling she experienced when she tried on Muriel was unique: Caterina immediately recognised herself in its lines, its simplicity and the way the gown followed and enhanced her figure.

What captivated her most was its construction: a clean, precise and distinctly architectural silhouette.

For Caterina, an architect herself, the connection was immediate.

“Architecture is my profession, and everything about the lines of the dress felt like pure perfection.”

The Fabric That Makes Muriel Unique

Muriel is a variation of the Amsale Icon gown, one of Peter Langner’s iconic designs, reinterpreted in an exceptional raffia and silk fabric.

The fabric was one of the elements Caterina fell in love with from the very first fitting. Its distinctive luminosity, its texture and the way it supports the volume of the skirt make the gown’s essential, architectural silhouette even more special.

The strength of the gown lies precisely in this balance: the preciousness of the fabric, the precision of its construction and the purity of its lines. There is no need for superfluous decoration because, as Caterina explains, Muriel simply did not need anything else.

The Perfect Fit

The fittings that followed became an integral part of the experience. At the Peter Langner Showroom in Milan, Caterina was guided step by step as the gown was perfected, sharing the journey with her mother and the friend who had first introduced her to the Maison.

The customisation was minimal but precise: a small adjustment to the neckline and meticulous work on the waist, refined fitting after fitting until the gown achieved exactly the right fit.

As Caterina simply puts it, “It felt like wearing a glove.”

What made the experience even more meaningful was the opportunity to see not only the showroom, but also the Milan atelier where every gown takes shape. Seeing the tailors at work, the precision behind every adjustment and the care devoted to the construction of the gown gave her an even deeper appreciation of what she would wear on her wedding day.

“Seeing not only the showroom but also the atelier, where everything comes to life and takes shape, made me fall even more in love with the dress and with all the work behind it.”

The Veil and the Details

To complete her look, Caterina chose a Peter Langner veil, light and delicate, embellished with tiny white pearls. This detail carried a personal meaning of its own: it was a gift from the same friend who had accompanied her in choosing her gown and who, knowing Caterina so well, was certain it would be the perfect veil for her.

For her accessories, Caterina chose jewellery that already held a special meaning, pieces given to her by her family and Andrea that also became her “something old” and “something blue.”

One final detail came about during her journey with Peter: the ring pillows were made from the same raffia and silk fabric as her gown. Suggested by Peter, they brought a subtle detail from the dress into the ceremony itself.

From Emotion to Celebration

The ceremony was the most emotional part of the day. It was officiated by Caterina’s brother, making an already meaningful moment even more personal.

Caterina particularly remembers exchanging their vows. Declaring their love and their promises for the future in front of the people closest to them gave the moment an even deeper significance. Then came their friends’ speeches, unexpected words, their parents’ emotion and the sheer joy of finally saying “I do.”

After the ceremony, emotion gave way to celebration, exactly as Caterina and Andrea had imagined from the beginning.

The music, dinner, and all their friends finally gathered in the same place. Among Caterina’s most vivid memories is the moment they entered dinner and were welcomed by the cheers of their guests.

“We wanted everyone to have fun, and we lived the entire day with the excitement and joy of two children.”
