What is a Trunk Show?

The term Trunk Show is becoming increasingly common, especially in the bridal world. But what does it actually mean?

A Trunk Show is an exclusive event organized by a brand in collaboration with one of its partner boutiques for a limited period of time. Most Trunk Shows last one or two weekends, although the duration may vary depending on the event and the boutique hosting it.

During a Trunk Show, the boutique showcases a much wider selection of gowns and accessories than it would normally carry. It is therefore a unique opportunity to discover the latest Peter Langner bridal collection, while also trying on some of the Maison’s most iconic designs—gowns that may not usually be available at that particular boutique throughout the year.

It is an experience designed to immerse every bride in the Peter Langner couture universe, allowing her to discover our signature style, exceptional fabrics, impeccable craftsmanship, and ultimately find the gown that best reflects her personality.

Meet the Designer

In our Trunk Show calendar, you may occasionally find events marked as Meet the Designer.

These are even more exclusive occasions, where Peter Langner himself will be present.

Guiding a bride through the choice of her wedding gown is always a special experience. During these events, Peter shares the inspiration behind each collection, offers a glimpse into the craftsmanship behind every creation, and provides personal advice on choosing the perfect gown, veil, and accessories, making the experience even more intimate, memorable, and unique.

Where does the term “Trunk Show” come from?

Fun Fact

The origin of the term is both fascinating and deeply rooted in the history of fashion.

The word “trunk” refers to the large travelling trunks that designers and fashion houses once used to transport their collections from city to city, presenting them to the finest boutiques and private clients.

This is where the expression Trunk Show comes from—quite literally, “the show of trunks.”

Today, those large trunks have been replaced by more modern ways of transporting collections, but the name has remained and continues to identify one of the most anticipated events of the bridal season.

Why attend a Peter Langner Trunk Show?

Attending a Peter Langner Trunk Show is about much more than simply trying on wedding gowns.

For a limited time, our partner boutiques host an exceptional selection from the Peter Langner universe, giving brides the opportunity to discover far more than what is normally available throughout the year.

Alongside the llatest bridal collection, you may also have the chance to try on some of the Maison’s most iconic creations, including Glass Slipper, as well as gowns from our Timeless Collection—designs that continue to embody our vision of enduring elegance, season after season.

Accessories are also an essential part of the experience. Veils, capes, boleros and couture details allow brides to envision their complete bridal look and explore every element that makes it truly unique.

Every Peter Langner collection is created with the intention of standing the test of time. That is why the concept of an “old collection” has never been part of our philosophy. Each gown continues to tell a story of elegance, craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail, regardless of when it was first introduced.

It is this opportunity to fully immerse yourself in the world of the Maison that makes every Peter Langner Trunk Show such an exceptional experience.
